From girls playing hard ball to Beyonce talking tennis - August was a great month for brand purpose campaigns.

But which are our favourite ads? Every month we pick the ad campaigns that show just how purpose can boost brand love and make memorable ad experiences.

This month's round-up is very sports-focused, with brands choosing to champion diversity and the power of representation in their creatives.

From Spurs' Son Heung-Min to overwhelmed parents, their stories are more than just selling a product - the brands empower their consumers by making them feel visible.

So get your trainers on and enjoy watching our top 5 campaigns of the month.

5. Amazon Prime

Campaign: A Girls' Letter to the Future

Many of us are still riding high from the unprecedented attention the Women's European Championships received last month. And ahead of the launch of "A League of Their Own" - a new US TV show about the formation of a women's professional baseball team during WW2 - Amazon Prime is keen to keep the ball rolling (literally) on women's sport.

OK, the ball is slightly smaller than the one England's Lionesses kicked to glory, but the sentiment is the same - to level the playing field for girls. In this case, the baseball field.

To promote the new TV series, Amazon created an ad that brings together professional athletes and young girls to write a letter to the future with their promise: "Every home run we hit, every strikeout we throw, will get us closer to the ceiling you know we'll shatter one day."

4. Tiger Beer

Campaign: Boldness Finds A Way (Son Heung-Min)

To celebrate the kick-off of the English Premier League, Tiger Beer created a global campaign featuring its official brand ambassador, Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-Min.

Son became the first Asian player to win the Premier League's Golden Boot after scoring 23 goals last season.

The campaign serves as a reminder to be bold and to keep going, no matter the obstacle.

3. Sun Lolly

Campaign: Don't Be Perfect, Be Present

"It's easy to forget everything on social media is curated and you start comparing yourself." This ad is for all the parents who feel under pressure to be perfect all the time.

Sun Lolly, a Danish ice pop company, created a beautiful campaign reminding parents that being the best isn't about the tidiest house, or days without tantrums.

It's about showing up and being present. It's a very emotional ad and one that should reassure a lot of overwhelmed parents.

2. Cadbury

Campaign: Sign with Fingers Big & Small

Eleven million people in the UK are deaf or hard of hearing, but how many of us would know how to include a deaf person in everyday conversation?

Cadbury partnered with The National Deaf Children's Society to get more of us signing.

They've also created a series of lessons to teach people BSL phrases, such as "would you like a snack?" and "fancy a cuppa?".

1. Gatorade

Campaign: Love Means Everything

"A love that started a movement."

Serena Williams' retirement - or 'evolution' as she prefers to call it - marks the end of an era. From a young girl forced to practise on public courts in a poor neighbourhood to 23 Grand Slam singles titles, the most by any player in the Open era, her story is incredibly inspiring.

This campaign is a love letter to her legacy, and who better to narrate this dedication than Beyoncé.
